The CSPA is governed by a Managing Council (MC) comprising:

Mandates / Elections The Chair, Co-chair, and Secretary have a mandate of 2 years. The Co-chair automatically becomes the Chair after his/her 2-year term to ensure strategic sustainability. The Co-chair and Secretary are nominated and elected every 2 years at a Semi-Annual General Meeting by the Managing Council.
The Regional Representatives should be chosen by their respective regional groups on a yearly basis when those groups are sufficiently organized.
Semi-Annual General MeetingThe Semi-Annual General Meetings are held in conjunction with the annual Eastern Canada Sport and Exercise Psychology Symposium and another national sport and exercise conference (e.g. SPIN, Sport Leadership, etc.).
MC Roles and Responsibilities Chair Plan and run the Semi-Annual General Meetings; perform day-to-day operations; sit as non-voting member on the Review Committee (RC); guide any appeal process (appeals are heard by the Chair and 3 CSPA members who do not sit on the MC nor the RC); promote the CSPA and the practice of sport psychology across Canada; recruit new members.
Co-Chair Work with Chair to plan and run the Semi-Annual General Meetings; act as treasurer of CSPA; promote the CSPA and the practice of sport psychology across Canada; serve as a lead for various projects on behalf of the CSPA.
Secretary Perform secretarial duties at all CSPA functions when required; promote the CSPA and the practice of sport psychology across Canada.
Regional Representatives Attend and contribute to all CSPA functions; act as liaison between the CSPA and regional sport psychology associations and members; promote the CSPA and the practice of sport psychology across Canada, particularly in their respective regions; recruit new members.
Student Representative Attend and contribute to the Semi-Annual General Meeting; act as liaison between the CSPA and students across Canada including CSPA student members; promote the CSPA and the practice of sport psychology across Canada, particularly among students; recruit new members, particularly students; assist students organizing student-based conferences in Eastern and Western Canada.
