MEMBERSHIP - Application Process

Please read the following guidelines prior to completing any application or membership form.

The first step in the application process is to consult the CSPA Membership Requirements and then select the type of membership you are seeking: CSPA Professional Member or CSPA Student Member.

CSPA Student Members

1. Becoming a new member

You may become a CSPA Student Member at any time during a given year by completing the CSPA Student Application.  If you have further question, please contact Judy Goss, Chair Membership Committee  at judy.goss@cscontario.ca. A fee of $40 Canadian is required with the application.Upon confirmation of payment, your membership will be activated.

While you are completing your internship or any practical work as a CSPA Student Member, you must have professional liability insurance either though your University program, the CSPA or another organization offering a $2,000,000 coverage plan.

2. Renewing your membership

Your CSPA Student Membership expires one year after the date it was activated. You will  receive a notice to renew your membership prior to membership expiration.


CSPA Professional Members

1. Becoming a new member

You may apply to become a CSPA Professional Member at any time during a given year, however, applications will only be reviewed twice a year, that is, during the months of May and November. You must submit your application by May 1st to have it reviewed in May and by November 1st to have it reviewed in November.

To apply to become a CSPA Professional Member, you must complete all required application forms which includes a General Application Form, an Internship Verification Form, the contact information of your internship supervisor(s) (Internship Supervisor Form) and two clients (Client Appraisal Form) who will evaluate your consulting work.  In addition, you must submit an application fee in the amount of $ 30.00.


Upon submission, your validated application form will automatically be sent to the 3 members of the Review Committee (RC) who will evaluate your application within either the month of May or November.

2. Renewing your membership

Your CSPA membership expires at the end of end of each calendar year. You will  receive a notice to renew your membership prior to membership expiration.
